Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), homeowners still have access to the 30% Residential Clean Energy Tax Credit (Section 25D)—but only until the end of this year.
To qualify:
Your system must be installed and placed in service by December 31, 2025. No extensions. No phase-down.

Foreign-Entity Restrictions (FEOC Rules): Domestic Content Requirements Start 2026
Beginning in 2026, new commercial systems must meet domestic sourcing thresholds to remain eligible for tax credits. Projects using parts from Foreign Entities of Concern (e.g. China, Russia, Iran, North Korea) may be disqualified.
- 40% U.S. content required in 2026
- Increases to 60% by 2030
