About Florida Solar For All (FSFA)

SELF, in partnership with Solar United Neighbors and The Nature Conservancy in Florida, has received $156 million from the EPA! These historic funds will help thousands of Floridians households in low-income and disadvantaged communities to benefit from distributed solar energy and ensure an inclusive energy transition.

Its mission is to promote environmental sustainability, reduce energy costs, and create green jobs across the state.

FSFA Funding Initiative

This funding initiative aims to make solar power accessible and affordable for low-income and disadvantaged communities through grants and low-cost loans. Single-family homes and multifamily rentals in low-income and disadvantaged communities are eligible.

 

Funding sizes will be:

  • Low-income home: 100% grant
  • Moderate-income home: 60% grant + special financing
  • Multifamily: 10% grant + special financing

How Does FSFA Work?

Beginning October 2024, funds will be available for:

 

  • Grants and deeply affordable financing for residential rooftop solar systems in low-income and disadvantaged communities across Florida.
  • Technical assistance to support workforce development, community engagement, and market development.

Who is Eligible for FSFA?

By meeting these eligibility requirements, you can take advantage of the financial savings, environmental benefits, and energy independence that solar power provides. Join us in making Florida a leader in renewable energy and a cleaner, greener state for all!

 

Residency: You must be a resident of Florida, living within the state’s jurisdiction.

 

Income: The program primarily targets low- to moderate-income households. Specific income thresholds may vary, but generally, households earning up to 80% of the area median income (AMI) are eligible.

 

Home Ownership or Long-Term Leasing: You must either own your home or have a long-term lease agreement. Renters may be eligible with landlord permission.

 

Energy Efficiency: Your home should meet basic energy efficiency standards to maximize the benefits of solar power. The program can assist with necessary energy efficiency upgrades.

 

Credit Check: Some participants may need to undergo a credit check or provide proof of financial stability to qualify for financing options.

 

Participation in Community Solar Projects: If you cannot install solar panels on your property, you might still be eligible to participate in community solar projects facilitated by the program.
